Carlsbad’s own Brett Berger swings into the Carlsbad Classic!
Local high school student Brett Berger has received a main draw wild card to her first WTA event with the Carlsbad Classic. This local rising star will be a pleasure to cheer on.

Brett Paris Berger is a 15 year old resident of Carlsbad, CA. Currently a sophomore at La Costa Canyon High School, Brett is a staple on the Southern California Junior USTA circuit. In 2014 she won the Indian Wells Labor Day tournament, appeared in the finals of the Monterey Country Club Jr. Open and the Alex Feller Memorial Jr. Open and reached the Semi Finals in 3 other events. Brett is currently a member of the La Costa Canyon Girls Tennis Team. As a freshman Brett won both the league team and league individual titles as doubles player and as a sophomore she won the league individual title and was named league player of the year with a 27-0 singles record. Brett started playing tennis at the age of 10 and is coached by Gary Young at the Bobby Riggs Tennis Center in Encinitas, CA. Brett has a 4.0 GPA and is just now beginning the process of looking at colleges.
